Postcards from… The Oscars 2016!

Postcards from... The Oscars 2016What better way to debut my new blog segment, called “Postcards from…” then with the Oscars?! Oscars 2016 was filled with glitz and glamour… and gold, oh the gold… did I mention how I just loved gold?? (Wanted, Wanted and more Wanted!)

With so much bling, shine and sparkle to mention, I’m highlighting some of my favorite shiny looks from tinsel town’s favorite night out, that embody the thrill of Hollywood glamour old and new alike.

An eclectic mix of celebrities such as Andy Dick and Radha Mitchell came together with cinephiles and Hollywood high society to root for their favorite actor or film to win an Oscar, all in support of the nonprofit, The Children Uniting Nations. Guests mingled, enjoyed cocktails and a formal dinner in the historic Tagylan Cultural Complex, a beautifully converted Armenian church located in the heart of Hollywood.

The evening culminated with an international high-couture runway show which included collections from Slovakian designer Renata Kliska and her latest creations from her “La Rena” label, Indonesian designer, Anniesa Hasibuan’s intricate and stunning collection “PearlAsia”, with intricately detailed beading and sparkling pearls galore, and French designer Mialy Seheno, with her wildly flowing ball gowns… showing that fashion truly is the universal language of peace.

Vanity Fair Oscars Party - Anne Hathaway

While other stars chose to hug their baby bump in tight gowns, I’m so glad Anne didn’t! Anne Hathaway sparkled, like a 1920’s starlet in Indian designer Naeem Khan’s gold beaded black dress at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, which was inspired by 1920’s art deco styling … so perfect for an evening at Los Angeles historical hotspots like The Cicada Club or The Edison, both located in Downtown Los Angeles.

Bold in Gold!

… Now for the gold! … because what’s a girl without accessories for that big event? I love these bold gold looks that carry Oscar glamour that you can bring into your very own academy award season look. Los Angeles jewelry designer, Devon Leigh has your writs and ears covered. Adorn your footsies with a little bit of “or” (…that’s gold in French, by the way) from French designer, Barbara Bui and carry your cellphone and favorite tube of lipstick in luxury with Lana Marks of Beverly Hills’ gold and yellow sapphire encrusted Cleopatra Clutch.

Wish You Were Here!

… More postcards to come. Until the next fashion trip. Ciao!  #WillTravelforFashion
